As Deputy Director, Supervision (Insurance) at the Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) Timae Flood is responsible for managing the Authority’s relationship with the Bermuda captive market via engagement meetings with companies, service providers and associations. Ms Flood also leads a team monitoring limited purpose insurers’ activity through review and analysis of complex insurer returns, applications and financial and prudential filings, as well as overseeing regulatory compliance with laws, regulations, codes, plans, licence restrictions and procedures.
Ms Flood joined the Authority in 2005 as an Analyst in the Supervision (Insurance) Department. In this role, among other duties, she analysed Bermuda’s regulated insurance companies. Ms Flood has been promoted to various roles of increasing responsibility within the Authority, most recently to Deputy Director in 2024.
Ms Flood holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Hartford in Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Additionally, Ms Flood earned an Associate in Captive Insurance designation through the International Center for Captive Insurance Education
