Managing Director – Aon
Séadna was appointed to the role of Managing Director in September 2022 and is responsible for the overall leadership and oversight of the captive & insurance management operations in Bermuda. Aon Insurance Managers (AIM) has three distinct business units – Captive Management, Commercial Re/insurance advisory (including both life and non-life companies) and Insurance Linked Securities.
Prior to September 2022, Seadna was responsible for implementing and enhancing Aon Bermuda’s risk consulting value proposition within the Captive Management Operations. Séadna has considerable experience in developing and delivering risk management solutions to help organizations discover the full extent of risk, supporting every stage of the risk management process – from strategic risk consulting to the operational execution of risk identification, risk mitigation, risk transfer, insurance optimization, risk finance solutions, risk retention and captives and related outsourcing. Séadna also has considerable experience in the consolidation and optimization of captive (re)insurance companies across a number of sectors.
Séadna began his insurance career in 2003 with Frank Glennon Insurance Brokers in Dublin. In 2004 he joined Aon Ireland and held a number or roles both in the finance and consulting practices. He managed a portfolio of insurance clients, across a variety of sectors including food and beverage, pharmaceutical and financial services. Séadna was also responsible for developing and implementing efficient and effective Solvency II solutions for a number of clients with a particular focus on the Pillar II aspects of the regime.
In September 2016, relocated to Bermuda to serve as Risk Advisory Director for Aon Bermuda.
Séadna is a qualified accountant and a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Séadna received a degree in Accounting and Finance from Dublin City University in 2003.
