Relevant Experience/Specialization

Paul has over 40 years’ experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, some 35 of which have been in the captive and insurance management sector. He has been based predominantly in Bermuda, but has also spent time in both London and Singapore.

Having come to Bermuda in 1986 with Johnson & Higgins, he established Jardine Lloyd Thompson’s Bermuda insurance management business in 2000. In 2009 Paul joined a Lloyd’s of London business to grow its Bermuda presence. After a subsequent spell in Singapore, Paul returned home to Bermuda in 2016 and joined WTW in March 2018.

Paul has a strong technical background, together with significant exposure and involvement in the governance and operations of complex insurance vehicles – both captive and commercial.

Role at Willis Towers Watson

Paul is Managing Director of WTW’s Bermuda Captive Operations and is also regional Head for the group’s Caribbean & Atlantic insurance management operations.

Education and Credentials

Paul started his career with Willis in Belfast in 1979 and while there obtained his Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) designation. He moved to Bermuda in 1986 and commenced his insurance management career.
