Janis Hagenbucher is the Managing Director of Crawford’s Forensic Accounting Services in the U.S. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF).

Ms. Hagenbucher has been working in the forensic accounting area for over 35 years.  She specializes in performing analyses of financial and operating data necessary for the determination and verification of insurance claims and economic losses sustained due to property damage, theft and casualty losses, cyber events, contamination/virus (i.e.: COVID-19) well as other business disruptions.

Types of engagements include: business interruption, extra expense, inventory, physical damage reconstruction projects/builder risk, employee fraud and embezzlement cases, financial condition analyses, event cancellation, cyber, and third-party disputes.

Industry experience includes, but is not limited to: health care, pharmaceutical, hotels, rental properties, restaurants, schools and universities, theaters, utilities, cogeneration facilities, pulp and paper, glass manufacturing, printing presses, consumer goods manufacturing, non-profits, retail and wholesale sales, and professional services.

Ms. Hagenbucher has provided expert testimony on behalf of insurers and other parties and has assisted during Examinations Under Oath, Examinations prior to Trial, depositions and interrogatories. She has been engaged as an Appraiser and Umpire in insurance claim disputes. In addition, Ms. Hagenbucher has prepared and presented in-house seminars for domestic and international insurance carriers, as well as presented seminars for in-house training purposes.
