Tom Johansmeyer is the global head of index classes at Price Forbes Re in Bermuda. He focuses on index-based and alternative risk transfer worldwide and across all classes of business. Previously, Tom served as the head of industry loss index provider PCS for seven years, where he led the group’s global natural catastrophe and specialty lines expansion, to include political violence and cyber. Tom has an MBA in accounting and an MA in global diplomacy, with the latter focusing on the problem of natural disaster-induced political violence. He is currently working on a PhD in international conflict analysis, where he is studying the cyber insurance protection gap as an economic security problem. Tom regularly publishes in academic journals and mainstream media.
